All the leaves on all the trees

How Many Brain Cells?

The number of cells in your brain is around 100 Billion. (100,000,000,000)

The number of connections possible between them is 1 Billion Trillion. (1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000).

Or

Cells = all the trees

Connections = all the leaves on all the trees.

In other words an awful lot.

Each connection captures a thought, an image, a sound, a smell, a feeling, a memory or an experience.

The brain makes connections to already stored 'memories' through association.

For example, if you meet someone today that you already know, you'll associate all the memory you have of that person and prepare to bring it to the front of your mind for easy recall.
